Two rare things happened at the 1-mile race last weekend. What I would consider the more surprising is the number of good race pics of myself.
I mean look at these. I look comfortable, natural. I’m smiling.
In reality, I was sucking air. My heart rate was pushing full-max. I went out too fast. My lungs were burning hotter than a forest fire.
Miraculously I won the race. I’ve never won a race before.
To be fair there were only 6 other contenders at that distance and 2nd place was a 4-year-old who came in with exactly double my time. But competition is all about selecting the right arena. Right? Bueller?
